Can film still be successfully developed 7 years after the pictures were taken?

I recently found some rolls of film I just never got around to developing. Should it be ok to develop or should I not waste my time and money trying to find out? Thanks!|||i found film 12 years old in a kitchen drawer once. I took it to walmart and paid for only the pictures that came out and i wanted.|||They may turn out, they may not.

If the film was left somewhere where it may have been exposed to light or heat, your chances of getting a good photo will be lessened.

I always like to give it a shot, because even if most of them don't turn out, you can sometimes find a real gem!

Edit: Stored in a drawer, go for it. Hopefully you will get some good ones. And as the person below me said, often you will only have to pay for the ones that turn out.|||You may have color-shift. But it could be something that was taken during an important event-so think about that.|||As long as they never been exposed to light they should be fine.|||Yes. It will be worth the effort.
